THE WOMEN’S BOAT TO GAZA (poem)

It's about the boat to Gaza,
Thirteen women on board Zaytouna-Oliva,
Part of the bigger Freedom Flotilla,
Highlighting illegal blockade of Gaza

All delegates and crew were women,
Lead by Nobel Laureate from Northern Ireland,
In doing so they hope to raise concern,
Isreal's disregard of UN Resolution,
Mission is to highlight the oppression,
Giving Gaza the needed media attention,
Isreal's ongoing illegal blockade,
International Law which Israel continue to violate.

Remember in 2010 Mavi Marmara have tried,
But ten non-violent activists have died,
Shot by Israeli Navy with guns brandished,
The Illegal act still go unpunished,
The Zaytouna-Oliva boat was detoured,
The women captured and deported.

But what happenned to Oliva and Marmara was nothing,
Compared to daily violence Gaza is experiencing,
We have been guilty watching,
The captivity of 1.9 million Palestinian,
Extreme injustice to men, women and children,
All caged in the world's largest prison,
Without the much needed provision.

Homes, schools and hospitals have been destroyed,
97% of water can no longer be enjoyed,
Electricity supply is very limited,
Conditions are bad and depleted,
UN predicted Gaza by 2020 uninhabited.

The Flotilla seeks to bring hope and solidarity,
To the besieged Palestinian territory and city,
The brutal siege must be lifted immediately,
Freedom Flotilla must continue to sail until Palestine is free.
